NDC’s Holiday Trend Report outlines four design movements in the diamond jewellery trade
Meaningful yet trendy diamond jewellery pieces that reflect love and optimism are seen to captivate buyers during the upcoming holiday season, revealed a new Natural Diamond Council (NDC) report.
Consumers who yearn for inspired creations are likely to spend on valuable yet fashionable gifts, according to NDC’s Holiday Trend Report, which outlined four design movements that aim to modernise the diamond jewellery narrative and make it more relevant in a coronavirus-stricken world.
What better way to express authenticity and originality than with natural diamonds? The Trend Report showcases natural diamonds in unconventional ways that highlight their enduring quality and beauty.
Under the High-Octane Color trend, diamonds are juxtaposed with vibrant enamel and ceramic designs that are spirited, contemporary and stylish. These are seen to appeal most to a younger generation of buyers who wants affordable and chic diamond jewellery.
Precious & Personal meanwhile features diamond-studded letters, numbers and words in a range of shapes and sizes that are expected to strike a chord with first-time diamond owners as well as new moms, among other consumers. Personalised gifting takes a diamond’s sentimental quality to another level.
The Statement Earring for its part is the season’s style signifier, according to the report. Big, bold and sparkling earrings are not just reserved for glamorous events; these pieces likewise inject sophistication to any outfit.
Understated and unique rough stones meanwhile are the stars of Organic & Earthy Commitment Rings. This trend shines the light on a rough stone’s organic and incredibly bespoke nature.
The report was created by NDC’s newly established Style Collective, a team of six industry leaders in retail, fashion and media who closely follow trends and consumer behaviour.
