HRD Antwerp recently inked an agreement with the government of Russia to establish a diamond grading laboratory in Moscow.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between HRD Antwerp and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, represented by Deputy Minister of Finance Aleksey Vladimirovich Moiseev.
According to HRD Antwerp, the MoU is an important step forward as the company moves to open the first HRD Antwerp laboratory in Russia. Ari Epstein, president of the board of directors of HRD Antwerp, emphasised the importance of Russia as the world’s largest producer of rough diamonds, and as an industry leader when it comes to transparency in the value chain.
“This collaboration will further enhance confidence in the diamond and jewellery market in Russia and worldwide,” noted Epstein.
