The 39th World Diamond Congress will be held in Hong Kong from November 2 to 5, 2020, a joint statement by the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) revealed.
According to WFDB President Ernie Blom, the biennial congress has not been held in Hong Kong for a number of years. "I am delighted that we will be returning to this exciting and vibrant city which is also the gateway to the vitally important Chinese market," he noted.
He also asked WFDB and IDMA members, and other diamond industry stakeholders to participate in the 2020 World Diamond Congress. "It is a very important event where sensitive industry topics are debated with global input and decisions made," added Blom.
IDMA President Ronnie VanderLinden meanwhile remarked, "The midstream diamond pipeline is under great pressure for many years. It is vital that we have a full attendance, with members from across the world, to discuss this challenge and how to go forward."
